John Baxter is my name.

I was brought up in Edinburgh in a warm Christian environment. I gave my life to the Lord when I was 18. I am married to Pam and we have attended Blakelaw Community Church since 2014.

There is a great need today for people to know the Lord Jesus and, as an elder of the church, I desire that our fellowship will reach out with the ‘good news’.

My name is Pam and I am married to John Baxter. We have 1 daughter, 3 sons and 9 grandchildren.

I went to church as a little girl, but then didn’t go for many years, until I moved to live in Helensburgh, where I attended a Church of Scotland for 18 years. It was during this time I gave my life to Jesus when I went to a Billy Graham mission. In 2004 I moved to live in Stockport and it was there I was Baptised at Hazel Grove Baptist Church.

I came to live in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2011 and now go to Blakelaw Community Church where I am involved in the children’s work and am a member of the Leadership Team. I enjoy being part of this welcoming, growing, family church and especially enjoy being with the young people in Sunday School and learning new worship songs.

One of my favourite verses in the Bible is Psalm 46 verse 10 ‘Be still and know that I am God’. We live in a time when people are busy and sometimes experience stress and anxiety. It is good to slow down and know the peace that only comes from our Lord Jesus Christ.

My name is Bolaji Ismail. I’m originally from Lagos, Nigeria. I was born and raised in the mainland city of Lagos by Muslim parents but Christ Jesus came into my heart in 1987 when I was in secondary school. It has been an amazing journey ever since.

I have been serving God in different capacities all through the years following my conversion to Christianity.

I served as youth pastor in my local church in Lagos for some years, as a leader in the campus fellowship during my undergraduate, a church planter and as a pastor of a local church in Washington United Kingdom for seven years.

I met my sweetheart Theodora in the University and we got married in 2004. We are blessed with two amazing kids. My wife has been my rock through the years using her numerous gifts to support our ministry work and the children.

Mark and Sandy are originally from London. They both found Christ while at university, and met one another at a Bible Study in Central London. After university Mark trained for ministry at Trinity College, Bristol and Sandy trained to be a Science teacher in London.
They have been in pastoral work since 1976; their first church being in North West London, where they married in 1977. In 1983 God guided them to the North East, which they now consider to be their home. Over the years they have formed many strong friendships and links with other churches and fellowships in Tyneside and have seen God maintain unity amongst Christian leaders.
Mark and Sandy have 3 children and 5 grandchildren that they enjoy seeing regularly. Mark loves preaching, evangelism, riding his electric bike, walking in the Lake District and reading history books. Sandy enjoys teaching, playing the piano and leading worship and in her spare time, walking the dog and reading.

I am married with four children and have strong evangelical core values. I became a ‘born again’ Christian in 1992 and did some evangelical work when teaching at schools in Sierra Leone, West Africa. I am also a trained classroom teacher and a qualified Health & Social care worker.

Currently I am one of the leadership team at Blakelaw Community Church.

My main focus is preaching the good news of Jesus Christ and giving hope to others to enable them to transform their lives through Jesus Christ. I strive to work with all age groups.
